I need your help with possible Travel ideas

If I were going to drive this route, what would you suggest I see?

West into Texas,
across New Mexico,
thru Arizona,
into California @ San Diego
north along the California coast
up to Seattle Washington
Back East across Colorado and then the heartland of the country and back to NC

I am sure many of you have seen some great sights in these areas.
